Free 600 watt HPS bulbs… Yup, FREE!…

Hortilux marijuana grow lightsInspired by our friend Dug who is giving away a grow light (check out his “paying it forward” video here – https://youtu.be/Y8kmAYqeAA0), it made us think about some the things that we have that might be of use to others.

We change our 600 watt HPS bulbs religiously based on the manufacturers recommendation, popular urban myths and throwing darts at a calendar while blind folded, so when combining all of these scientific methods we end up changing out our bulbs every 6 to 12 months, but but for some reason we never throw them away.

No, these bulbs are not brand new but they most certainly have some life left in them.

If you are short a bulb (and a little money) for you grow then nothing is going to happen, so we would like to give those folks a hand if we can.

All you have to do is drop us an email (Info@MaineSeedlings.com) and we will give these bulbs away a pair at a time until they are gone.

There are EyeHortilux, Yield Lab, Apollo and other brands in that stack of bulbs and be given away paired by brand but by the luck of the draw. Some will even come in their original boxes (no, we don’t throw anything away!).

Yield Lab marijuana grow lightsThe only stipulations are that you must live in Maine and you would need to pick them up in the Portland area.

If these bulbs could help you get your grow going then please email us today.

Lastly, speaking of Dug and his free light giveaway, we are adding two clones for him to give away with his light, so check out his video, leave a comment and if you win you’ll get the light AND a couple clones.

Win a 400 watt HPS lighting fixture and bulb!…

My friend Smokin’ Dug is paying it forward, someone was kind enough to give him a 400 watt HPS fixture and bulb setup to help him get started growing his medical marijuana and since recently winning a Spectrum King LED light Dug no longer has a need for this and he wants to do for another what someone did for him.

If you are interested in being considered for this light go check out Dug’s YouTube channel and leave a comment under this video (https://youtu.be/Y8kmAYqeAA0).

This light will be awarded to someone who is in need of medicine and also in need of a little help to make this happen.

In an effort to help the winner out (whoever you may be), we want to join Dug in the spirit of paying it forward and will give them two of our Maine Seedlings clones to go with this light.

There two stipulations, that you live in Maine and are a military veteran.

Good luck everyone, head over and leave your comment with Dug for your chance to win!

While you are at his channel be sure to check out what his harvest was like growing with nothing but a Spectrum King 100 watt closet case (https://youtu.be/oct10VnbWrc).

New clones are almost ready!

It’s not enough to just own a Ph meter…

There are 3 parts to this, owning a Ph meter, calibrating it, and USING IT!

Probably the one factor that will most negatively impact your medical marijuana plants is the Ph, if it’s out of whack I promise you your plants will respond in kind.

But not only do you need to use your Ph pen (at least weekly), you need to calibrate it as well, if you don’t regularly calibrate your pen how in the world do you know if it is anywhere near accurate?

The process could not be simpler or take less time and the benefits it will provide you and your medical marijuana plants will be directly reflected in their health and your harvest.

The steps are short and simple:

1. Buy a Ph pen

2. Buy calibration solution

3. Setup an alert/alarm to remind you calibrate you pen (weekly)

4. Poor calibration fluid in a small measuring glass, let it sit for 45-60 seconds and adjust your pen to match the calibration fluid  (either 4.01 or 7.0 depending on the calibration fluid you purchase)

See, told you it was easy.

Here are direct links to Amazon for the items talked about in this episode:

5 Ounce/150cc Glass Measuring Cup -$5.51

1 ounce/30cc Mini Measuring Shot Glass – $5.63

General Hydroponics pH Up & pH Down – $15.38

I think that pretty much wraps up the show notes for The Marijuana Minute episode 5.

Ladybugs, why they should be part of your marijuana grow…

Here’s episode 4 of “The Marijuana Minute“, in it we talk about ladybugs, why you should really have them as a regular part of your (indoor) marijuana grow room and how to keep them alive even when there are no other bugs for them to eat.

They are a very inexpensive insurance policy and you can get them on Amazon (we ordered 1500 of the girls for $6.50) and if/when you order them DO NOT select expedited shipping, even if you don’t have Amazon Prime (with the free 2 day shipping) the bugs will get to you in just 2-4 days. So save your money.

Here’s an image from our last order and out of the 1500 ladybugs I’d be surprised if the dead bugs added up to 25.

And here’s an image of the girls having a snack at our DIY “feeding station“.

Lastly, when you do add them to your grow room do it when your lights are off, this way the girls will “wake up” in their new environment. If they arrive while your lights are on you can store them in your frig (NOT freezer) until the lights go out. But it will do them no harm to released into your room when the lights on.

A DIY solutions bucket for you marijuana grow room…

Here is our video showing you our DIY nutrient solutions bucket that we use on our marijuana grow rooms.

A couple points:

You will want to mount the spout just high enough so that if/when you set the bucket on a hard surface the spout does not come in contact with/hit it (and break).

Just the opposite on the air hose, put it just low enough so that the cover does not come in contact with the air hose, but not too low as you will lose capacity in your solutions bucket.

We have roots!…

ROOTS! It’s the sweet sign of success. After what feels like forever you can finally exhale when you see that all the time and effort you put into “creating a new life” has finally paid off!

I love my job.
