Not all seed banks are created equal…

Some seed banks suck
Not all seed banks are created equal

As long-time growers we’ve purchased a boat load of products and services to make our business happen and on rare occasion a product or a company didn’t provide the results we’d hoped for, but very rarely do we share a negative experience, for two reasons:

1. It may not have actually have been “bad”, it simply didn’t add to our workflow or improve our end product. So it wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t for us.

And that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be beneficial to you, so we don’t want to prevent others from trying something that may be exactly what they have been looking for.

2. There are way too many online trolls who will eagerly (and with glee) rip something or someone apart (and think they’re slick and funny in the process). I just don’t want to be that troll.

But I’m sorry, but this was a horrible experience from start to finish and I just can’t bite my tongue any longer…

When we buy seeds it’s almost always from “I Love Growing Marijuana” for a few reasons:

* We always get quality genetics
* Shipping is always free
* Delivery is guaranteed (if you don’t get it, it’s reshipped)
* $5 off your first order (using code “5fromrobert” at checkout)

But we recently tried a seed bank in California called Pacific Seed Bank, mostly because placing international orders with a credit or debit card can be a real pain in the ass!

So, when an order from Pacific Seed was supposed to be for feminized seeds but we got auto flowers we contacted them (December 7th), informing them of the problem and explained we’d like the feminized version we paid for in our original order.

The process took longer to resolve (till December 22nd) and required more hoop jumping than I thought was really necessary, but hey, they agreed to reship the correct seeds so “ok”.

Then we were told that we’d have to pay $9.95 shipping for the replacement seeds, though very unhappy about it we paid because it was a strain we REALLY wanted (plus we didn’t have any other option!). Another 3 weeks dragged by and still no seeds so I emailed them January 11th asking the status of our replacement seeds and was told (that same day) our order was being “prepared for shipment”, to expect tracking information in a few days:

Marijuana Seeds
“Your order is being prepared for shipment…”

And because I complained about having to pay a second time for shipping to get the correct seeds I was told (January 12th) that some “extras” would be thrown in.

Pot Seeds
“here are some seeds because we screwed up…”

So, January 21st rolls around and you guessed it, STILL NO FREAKING SEEDS! So I shoot off yet another email with a, “where the f*ck are my seeds?” kinda tone only to get a response saying they had been delivered January 11th, the SAME DAY THEY TOLD US THE ORDER WAS BEING PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT. Amazing!

Cannabis Seeds
“no seeds for you!”

To their credit they did provide documentation showing the post office had left them on our front stairs but unfortunately, we had been porch pirated.

To which Pacific Seed said there was nothing they could do to help us, at that point they would be stepping away and we would need to deal with the post office for any kind of resolution.

Being porch pirated sucked, but not nearly as much as what happened before it – the slow communication, inconsistent, inaccurate information, and over all bad customer service with complete lack of empathy or ability to try and make things right.

So, might I suggest that if you are looking for quality genetics and outstanding customer service, try a company like “I Love Growing Marijuana”. You’ll also find some informative grow resources along with an updated and expanded Grow Bible.

Or, if you like paying for product you’ll never actually receive or customer service that sucks harder than a Hoover vacuum, by all means, give Pacific Seed a call.
