Nothing for our Veterans on Memorial Day…

Though medical marijuana has proven to be helpful for many of the ailments suffered by our military veterans (pain, sleep issues, PTSD, etc.), the cost of being “certified” can be prohibitive, as it can easily cost $300 (and in some places even more!).

Its a sad thing to think that there is something that will help those brave people, but they cannot afford to get access to it.

On occasion (around military related holidays) there have been some doctors and dispensaries here in Southern Maine that have offered free medical marijuana certification for vets but I’ve called them all this week and not one is doing anything for this Memorial Day weekend.

I’m writing less to share my disappointment about this and more to ask that if you know of anyone/anyplace offering free or discounted services for veterans PLEASE let us know (drop us an email – Info@MaineSeedlings.com) and we will be sure to spread the word.

This Weeks Medical Marijuana Clones…

Our medical marijuana clones continue to fly out the door, these images are from just some of this weeks marijuana clones going out to patients.

Please know we plan on having even more marijuana clones available for qualified patients the first two weeks of June!

How it works is you can email us to be put in the “notify me when you have clones” list (info@MaineSeedlings.com) so as clones become available the first thing we do is “notify” them that we have medical marijuana clones available.

We put your name on the list in the same order as they come in (first come, first serve), and just because you may not hear from us immediately I promise you, if you email us you are on the list

Another option some patients use is to email our automated email list (Clones@MaineSeedlings.com) checking on clone availability and when there isn’t anything on there we also add them to the list and “Notify” them of available clones.

So the results have been that our clones sell out long before we can ever post them here (often before we can even make all the way through the list).

If you are in the market for clones, or will be soon we would encourage you to email us (at either our regular or automated email addresses) and we will notify you too as soon as the medical marijuana clones are ready to be turned into medicine.

Our clones average between 8 and 12 inches tall.

Prices: $35 per individual plant and $175 for a “six pack”.

Here are some of the rules from the Maine Medical Marijuana Program regarding seedlings (clones).

MMMP Rule 1.17.5:
“Seedling – Seedling means a marijuana plant that has no flowers (buds), is less than 12 inches in height and diameter. A plant that does not meet all three criteria will not be considered a seedling.”

MMMP Rule 4.10.1.2:
“Incidental amount of marijuana. A qualifying patient may possess an incidental amount of marijuana.”

MMMP Rule 4.10.1.2.1:
“Incidental amount of marijuana per patient means… an unlimited amount of marijuana seedlings…”

Yesterday we got some seriously important news when it comes to cannabis research, in a post by US News and World Report a “Major Pot Research Barrier Goes Up in Smoke” because the Obama Whitehouse has decided to drop the requirement that required researchers to “submit proposed pot studies to the U.S. Public Health Service for review, ending a hurdle that delayed – sometimes for years – private and state-funded research into marijuana’s medical value.”

This is a very important step down the path of knowledge, so that we can finally have a real scientific approach, discovery and openness as to what cannabis really can do for us.

“Major Pot Research Barrier Goes Up in Smoke” was written by Steven Nelson and is well worth the read.
